A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Koh Tao, Thailand by TravelPod blogger Mericanomad titled “Turtle Island” Mericanomad’s travel blog entry: “We arrived via a 2 hour boat ride on the last leg of our 3 island jaunt through the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Tao(Turtle Island) is famous for diving and issues the 2nd most PADI certificates in the world next to some place in Australia. Ana did 2 dives here, one was OK, the other was cut short because someone in her group got lost. We only stayed 2 nights since we were sick of beaches and determined to go to Cambodia before we have to be back to Krabi to meet Ana’s mom. Koh Tao is really nice. I think I like it the best out of it’s 2 more popular neighbors. The construction and roads have been done more tastefully than the other 2. However, it’s currently under heavy construction and not quite polished. I imagine in a couple of years all the cheap bungalows will have been replaced by more upmarket accomadations. Of the 3 islands I would definately come back here to do some more exploring. We have a 3 hour boat ride and 7 hour bus to Bangkok.” Read and see more at: www.travelpod.com Photos from this trip: 1. “Boat ride to Koh Tao” 2. “Boat ride between islands” 3. “Koh Tao harbor” 4. “Koh Tao Pier” 5. “Sunset from Hotel” 6. “Koh Tao street” 7. “Street scene” 8. “-11, everywhere in Thailand” 9. “Alley” 10. “No cars, yes bikes” 11. “Another street” 12. “Backpackers on the move” 13. “Near our hotel” 14. “minutes away

"Koh Tao" Motley’s photos around Koh Tao, Thailand

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Koh Tao, Thailand by TravelPod blogger Motley titled “Koh Tao” Motley’s travel blog entry: “Been on Koh Tao now for a couple of days and i must say that it is sweet. Its a really small island off The top of the southern peninsula (took about 10 hours by coach then 2 hours boat ride) and its amazing that it is still so cheap here as the beaches are practically empty, food is good and the resort has pool bar and restaurant as hoped. Must admit that i went a bit overboard on the tanning the first day so did pay the price and go sufficiently red to keep me out of the sun for a little while; but with my trusty bottle of aftersun and a bit of luck managed to keep it stuck to me and have lost that just cooked lobster look. Apart from eating and swimming and reading (gone through loads of books now) havent really been up to much which is a welcome rest from sightseeing in cities. We have been here 3 days now and i think we are staying for a couple more. Kate has been learning how to scuba dive but as my ears and water dont like to be near each other i thought it best to give that a miss – gunna go snorkelling tomorrow i think. Will post my pics of the resort when i get a chance. Hope everyone at home is well.
