There is no better place to live in that this geothermal wonderland of Rotorua, North Island. We started our special day with a couple of hours you Puhia and chose a guided tour of geysers erupting 30 feet Pohutu who was constantly while we were there to experience. We experienced the normal activities such as geothermal mud pools thermal, silica terracesand much more and the tour finished on marae. That evening I experienced first-hand everything. We chose the Maori Village Mita for evening entertainment and a night for what turned out to be. Mita The village is situated in 12 acresthe compass first with a stream running through it. The country is heard through the root Mita and all the employees are members of the tribe. Once you have gathered through the village, we were in the dining room of a man who we later discovered amazing, he was welcomed as the United Nations Maori name – John. John asked what nations are and then we greeted each visitor in their native language. That night, around 12 different nationalities and had a brief conversation with each ofthem. Later we learned that he learned the basics of 60 languages for over 7 years.
John asked for volunteers to the head of the visitor and much to my horror I have friend of my hand. After thanking me, I was also informed that I would have expected to make a speech on behalf of the people of the visitors' of the Four Winds. When my head was just a couple of special privileges, like the first one to go anywhere and was the first place was seen in the rain for hangi cooking.Hangis are steamed in the ground with hot stones and wet leaves. Next up was the water where we see a Maori warrior in full battle dress paddling a waka (war canoe), up and down during the course were treated in full battle cry.
Next we were in the room to take place where the cultural achievements and me and the seats were taken, where chieftainess front and center for implementation. But first we had to challenge so I went on stage to wait. The stageIt was dark with the light of a single fire. Maori villagers were sitting in full dress and then appeared boss Mita. Very large, naked except for a cloth of lion, naked from the waist to hip tattooed just above the knee, which reveals the face Moko (tattoo), said Speer spoke passionately in his hand and waved menacingly in Maori. I admit, I was with the subtleties of what I should do and say is supported by our host John, but could concentratewith his head down on me aroused in all its glory, the language is flashing spear.
When the time came, I think I said, "Now Kia great leader, on behalf of chieftainess on behalf of the people the four winds, I thank you for the boss, we welcome the marae, I thank him for sharing with us their culture I thank him for sharing with us his village and in the end I thank him for sharing his hangi. "We shook hands and then to the traditional Hongi (nose rubbing) I leftStage.
We were then treated to displays of weapons and intense combat, and the grace and beauty of dance POI. The final performance was the traditional Haka, and if you're sitting in the front row there is a sight to behold. The evening ended with a hangi dinner and a few glasses of wine. E 'was truly a night to remember the half Maori Village.
